I remember 15 years ago, when I started my journey at St. Luke Catholic School. It seems like time has just flown by. Catholic Schools Week was brand new to me, and coming from public school, was a total enigma. As the week progressed, I just did not understand why we celebrated for an entire week! I had skills to teach, goals to achieve, and assessments to give. There was no time for frivolous celebrations! As the years went by, I came to a deeper understanding and appreciation for Catholic Schools Week. You see, it is about gratitude for the journey together. We all have choices to make; for ourselves, for our children, for the people who depend on us. When we made the decision to be a part of Catholic Schools, we made the decision to unite in Christ. We make the decision to strive for accountability for our children. We make the decision to put our children in an environment where we know they will be nurtured and loved united in Christ, but also pushed and held to a high standard. We know that with hard work and dedication, you can accomplish anything, and our children absorb that philosophy and take it with them in life. The journey we are on together, as a loving community connected through Christ, is a call to celebrate with a grateful heart. Catholic school is based on Christ’s teaching of love. Where there is love, there is family. As we continue with our celebration, this week, let’s take a moment to cherish the journey we are on. Let’s celebrate the beautiful gift of Catholic school, the teachers who make the sacrifices to continue their ministry with less, and the parents who make the commitment to give their children the best. This year has been a journey of faith and patience, but it has also been a journey of gratitude. The freedoms we used to have, have transformed into appreciation for the small blessings. Focusing on our blessings, instead of worrying about what we don’t have, is a blessing in itself. We can refocus on what is important, the small treasures we have in our life, and smile with a grateful heart. It is an honor to lead our wonderful Catholic school. Every day I drive to work, grateful to be a servant to our community and children. Catholic school is a treasure we are all blessed to be a part of. If you are feeling lonely, don’t forget we are here. We are connected through the love of Christ, and where there is love, there is family. We R Family.

There's also a Disney Princesses Jeopardy game, and a superheroes Jeopardy game, along with online puzzles and drawing games. Please take some time to have fun as a family this evening. Please post your pictures on the St. Luke Facebook page! Game Night Links

ASH WEDNESDAY MEAL – FEB. 17
It is a long-standing tradition at St. Luke School for students in 2nd-5th grade to have a simple meal of soup, bread, and milk for lunch on Ash Wednesday. This is the only meal that the cafeteria will serve on Ash Wednesday. Students are asked to donate towards the cost of the meal; lunch cards will not be used for the Ash Wednesday lunch. Students in Pre-K through 1st grade are asked to pack a sack lunch on Ash Wednesday. A link for the online payment site will be emailed to parents before Ash Wednesday. In an effort to minimize contact, payments will only be collected online. Please do not sent cash with students. Thank you for understanding.
It was a beautiful day for our recyclable balloon release yesterday. Our students celebrated our nation with a flag raising and the balloon release. Visit our Facebook page to see more photos from our Catholic Schools Week festivities.
