Dear St. Luke Community, There is something so magical about waiting. Planning a trip and the excitement of what is yet to come, a special celebration; imagining all the wonderful things about to happen. The patience and devotion we spend on preparing for something wonderful to happen is so much fun to experience. All of this is so human, so beautiful, and so stimulating to our senses. Tis the season of waiting! We are all waiting for our special celebrations, waiting for the wonderful traditions we so dearly celebrate, and most importantly, waiting for the coming of Baby Jesus. “Joy to the World, the Savior comes”, is the most perfect Christmas song to sing this season, if you ponder what Jesus brought to the world. If you follow the understanding of God as pure love, God being born man incarnate is a physical representation of joy. Joy is when love overflows in your heart and spills out to share with everyone. Joy is the soul feeling such love that it cannot be contained and overflows into our daily actions. Tis the season to allow Jesus into our hearts to spread that joy to others, however we can do it. Whether it be by helping others, a kind word or gesture, or simply donating to the less fortunate. Spreading joy to the world is surely the best Christmas present we can give to Jesus on His special day. I hope you will find some ways while you are waiting with your loved ones to spread joy to all this Advent Season! The gift in return is pure love and joy in your heart, bringing us closer to our God.
Happy Advent! Nadine Buhrman

Could there be anything greater than the impending birth of a baby? Every precious soul is sacred and this month, in the Catholic Church, we celebrate the sacred birth of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is a time of hope, reflection, waiting, and joyful expectation. So how should we spend the Season of Advent?
