Consider this your Pre-Lent Pep Talk. Lent 2022 is a week away and now is the time to start talking about it with your family.
There are three main components to the Lenten experience: Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving.
Most people associate Lent with what you give up, but it is also what you are take on.
So, how will you make Lent more meaningful this year? The Domestic Church is here to help!
Every plan needs a purpose. Together, let us aim for the three S’s: Spiritual Growth, Self-Denial, and Sacrifice.
We will Pray for Spiritual Growth, spiritually Fast through Self-denial and Give Alms through Sacrifice.
This Friday, each family will go home with a simple Lent kit to help you get started. Each kit will have beautiful prayers and key symbols of the Lenten season.

It is a long-standing tradition at St. Luke School for all students in 2nd – 8th grade to participate and have a simple meal of soup, bread, and milk for lunch on Ash Wednesday. This is the only meal that the cafeteria will serve on Ash Wednesday. Students are asked to donate towards the cost of the meal; lunch cards will not be used for the Ash Wednesday lunch. The cafeteria donates the soup, bread and milk; the cafeteria staff donates their pay for the day.
Students in Pre-K through 1st grade are asked to pack a sack lunch on Ash Wednesday.
To minimize contact, payments will only be collected online. Please do not send cash with students. Please follow this link for the online donation site. Donations will be accepted until 5:00 pm on Ash Wednesday.
Please contact Nurse Alana at [email protected] with any food allergy concerns.
