Surprise! ‘The Domestic Church’ has a little gift for you. Let me explain. In a little over a week, Catholics will celebrate two very special feast days: The Solemnity of All Saints and All Soul’s Day. On the Solemnity of All Saints, we celebrate the lives and work of the saints who made it to Heaven and on All Soul’s Day, we pray for our deceased relatives and all of the faithfully departed trusting in God’s infinite mercy.
To mark these two occasions, each student will receive a ‘Be a Saints’ sticker reminding them that we are all called to be a saint. They will also receive a beautiful prayer card of St. Gertrude. We will send both items home Monday, November 1st.
Did you know Jesus gave St. Gertrude a special prayer that when recited will release a great multitude of poor lost souls in Purgatory? How many souls can you help send up to Heaven?
Our counseling program will focus on delivering child safety guidelines and rules by using the Yellow Dino and the Common Sense Education curriculum for the next few weeks. Yellow Dino will be used for pre-k 4 to 4th grade. This curriculum is music driven and is intended to benefit children in these grade levels. It touches on ways for young people to avoid the impact of bullies and cyberbullies, violent children and adults, drug pushers, kidnappers, abusers, and predators. It does this by teaching youngsters to identify deceptive behavior in others, to react to their own instincts, and to build self- confidence. Your children will take home coloring sheets with lesson explanations every time they receive a new lesson.
Students in 5th to 8th grade will receive the Commons Sense curriculum. Each digital citizenship lesson takes on real challenges and digital dilemmas that students face today, giving them the skills they need to succeed as digital learners, leaders, and citizens.
CAFETERIA PRICES CHANGING
Rising food costs and the cost of the containers we are currently using for Covid-19 safety, are causing us to raise our prices. Please know that the price increases are being kept to a minimum to meet our budget. This is the first price increase in approximately four years.
