Are you awake? We’re not referring to sleep here. We’re talking about being spiritually awake.
Pope Francis reminded us this week that Lent is a time to “reawaken our hearts.” Lent is also a response to a call.
For weeks, the Pontiff has asked the Catholic Faithful to pray for the people of Ukraine. This weekend, we will answer his call for continued prayer.
Please join St. Luke’s as we pray a Lenten Rosary this Saturday for the people of Ukraine sponsored by The Domestic Church.
It is especially important for two reasons.
The rosary we pray is fulfilling the request of Our Lady of Fatima to pray for peace in the world, and we remember her words promising that her Immaculate Heart would triumph.
This is especially significant because Pope Francis will be consecrating Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Friday, March 25 at the request of the Latin Rite Bishops in Ukraine.

And how to wake up from a spiritual slumber that can weigh you down in the “desert”.
Beginning Monday, March 21, we will move our mandatory masks to highly recommended, but optional. For those students who will be wearing a mask, we recommend the KN95 masks specifically designed for children. These masks are 95% effective in staving off Covid. With the readily available masks for children, we feel like this is the best way to protect those who must maintain an extra cautious level of protection. We will also maintain our hand washing and sanitizing as this is a sensible way to add an extra layer of protection. We will monitor and adjust as prudent. Thank you for your patience.

40 Cans for Lent
The Mother Teresa Society is once again sponsoring the 40 Cans for Lent contest that will benefit Catholic Charities. Last year we collected what seemed like millions of cans, and we want to collect even more this year! We will pass out collection baskets or boxes to classrooms either this Friday or next Monday. Mother Teresa members will come around each Friday beginning March 25 to pick up the cans collected. This year, we're asking each homeroom teacher to take a count of cans collected. We'll keep a running tally so that we can declare winners at the end of the contest. The can drive will end on Tuesday, April 12. Prizes will be given to the winning HOMEROOM in each category: PK, K and 1st grade; 2nd-5th grade, and MS. Thanks very much for supporting our can drive!
Hope for the Future 1st Round Awards
Families who received 1st round awards from Hope for the Future must accept their award no later than Sunday, April 3. Families received notification of their award via email from Hope for the Future. Families must log in to their FACTS account and accept or decline the award. If no action is taken, awards will be released and reassigned to the next family on the waiting list. Please be on Time!
Prompt arrival at school by 7:55 am is expected of all students. Late arrivals interrupt teachers’ lessons, tests/quizzes and disrupt the entire class. Excessive tardies result in a loss of valuable instructional time. Students who are not in their classroom ready for morning prayer at 8:00 am will be marked tardy on their attendance record. Please make every effort to have your child arrive to school on time. Thank you. St. Luke School Bus
After many years and much effort, the school received approval from Fr. Eric and the Archdiocese to purchase a school bus. We finally have a bus to transport our students to off-campus educational and spiritual activities. The bus will be used by the church as well for outings and retreats. The bus holds 30 passengers, has seat belts, is fully air conditioned and has overhead storage capacity. We need drivers with a CDL license. If you have a CDL and can volunteer to help us drive the bus on occasion, please contact Mrs. Buhrman, School Principal, or Coach Rudy Loza at 210-434-2011 or email [email protected] Thank you in advance for considering to support St. Luke Catholic Church and School.
Thank you so much for following our car line protocols! We appreciate your patience and support in our efforts to keep our students and staff safe. 2022-2023 Registration
