“Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” Ephesians 4:27
I can’t help but notice how difficult the world has become. I can’t recall a time in my life where I have been so sensitive to the world around me. There is a lot to be scared about, a lot to be frustrated about, and a lot to consume our thoughts. I want to invite you to join us, as we pray and focus on peace in our community and world. We cannot control how we feel, but we can control how we act. For the benefit of our community, let’s work together to teach our children resilience. When we are frustrated, let our actions teach our children that talking things out with people and finding what we have in common, versus so much focus on what we disagree on, is a way to peace in our world. What we model for our children now, is what they are going to adopt as their own behaviors. In the classrooms, we teach Kelso’s choices, to help our children talk things out, ask an adult for assistance, or walk away when angry. Our community is blessed with the resources to do something different, to rise above the negativity and separation. Together, we can help our children learn how to deal with consuming negative emotions and frustration and to be the peacemakers our world desperately needs. I really believe that together we can transform hearts. We all chose to be a part of a Catholic community; parents, teachers, and staff. We all have our own reasons for this decision, but what we all have in common is the choice from the heart, to be a part of Christ’s love. Compassion, forgiveness, trust, kindness, and strength are all part of the charism of St. Luke Catholic School. We have all chosen to be part of this community, so let’s work together to build a great family with love for all. Remember, God has only one plan for us while on this earth, and that is to be happy. Love is the formula for happiness.

Grandparents are invited to join us for Mass at 8:15 am with a reception for Grandparents to follow in the St. Jospeh room.
Each month from September to May, there is a school-wide focus on a specific virtue we would like to see in our students and all members of the St. Luke School community. The virtues are based on the Fruits of the Holy Spirit which characterize all who follow Christ by imitating His life and virtues. The students are encouraged to practice the virtue and recognize it and God's presence in others. By recognizing that month's virtue when it is observed, our goal is to strengthen that virtue throughout the school community. The students hear about each month's virtue during our daily morning prayer, in their religion classes and throughout the day. The students who consistently demonstrate this quality will be acknowledged by their homeroom teacher and earn special recognition at the end of the month during Mass.
Our Kinder students wish everyone a very Happy Labor Day!
This past Wednesday, our 8th graders traveled to the San Antonio Museum of Art to tour the Tony Parker Heroes and Villains Exhibit as part of their fine arts enrichment classes. It was a true joy to see our students travel and learn outside of the classroom again.
A special thank you to Mrs. Dannhardt, Art Teacher, for putting all this together!
